I. Customer situation

Jinyu Tire Group, as a professional enterprise specializing in the research, development, and manufacturing of automobile tires, was founded in 1995 and now boasts total assets of 5.5 billion yuan. Relying on advanced tire production, research and development, and testing equipment, coupled with a professional technical and management team, the company has established a comprehensive quality management system. Its sales network covers more than 100 countries and regions in Asia, Europe, America, and Africa, demonstrating significant product competitiveness and market coverage.

In terms of qualification certification, Jinyu Tire's products have fully passed authoritative certifications both domestically and internationally, including the national CCC product certification, ISO/IATF16949 international quality system certification, U.S. Department of Transportation DOT certification, European Economic Commission ECE certification, Brazilian INMETRO certification, Middle East GCC certification, European Wetland Noise certification, and Nigerian SONCAP certification. Additionally, the company's laboratory has obtained the national CNAS laboratory certification, providing a solid foundation for product quality and professional testing.

In terms of internationalization, Jinyu Tire initiated the construction of a modern factory in Fudong Industrial Park, Tay Ninh Province, Vietnam in June 2020, becoming the first tire company in the Guangrao region to establish a factory overseas. The first phase of the factory project focuses on the production of all-steel tires, with a designed production capacity of 2 million units per year. The first tire was rolled off the production line on March 30, 2021. In 2023, to further expand production capacity and product categories, the company plans to launch the second phase of the PCR semi-steel tire project at the Vietnam factory, with a designed production capacity of 3 million units per year. The large-scale and diversified layout of overseas production bases is gradually taking shape.

II. Project Background

The tire industry, as a core supporting sector of the automobile manufacturing industry, directly determines the overall vehicle performance and driving safety through its product quality. With the accelerated iteration of technology and intensified market competition, tire manufacturing enterprises face dual challenges: on the one hand, consumers' requirements for tire quality stability, performance adaptability, and safety standards continue to rise; on the other hand, enterprises need to improve production efficiency and optimize operating costs while ensuring product quality. Against this backdrop, the introduction of an efficient and precise Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) has become a key path for tire enterprises to optimize testing processes, enhance data quality, and reduce management costs.

The traditional laboratory management model exhibits significant shortcomings: data entry relies on manual labor, with cumbersome processes and a high risk of errors; sample management lacks systematic tracking, leading to potential circulation chaos; experimental process connections are inefficient, with poor cross-link collaboration; quality risk control lacks a closed loop, making it difficult to achieve full-chain traceability. These issues not only hinder laboratory work efficiency but also affect the progress of corporate scientific research and innovation, as well as the speed of product iteration. Therefore, the implementation of a LIMS system has become an inevitable choice for the tire industry to enhance its core competitiveness.

To precisely meet the needs of Jinyu Tire's laboratory in Vietnam, Dalian ZQSOFT Information Technology Co., Ltd. has assembled a dedicated team to conduct in-depth research on the laboratory's organizational structure, division of responsibilities, existing business processes, core pain points, and key requirements. The team aims to build an advanced and comprehensive LIMS system for Jinyu Tire.

III. Project Construction Content

(I) Core function positioning

1. Promote the standardization of the entire analysis and inspection process, achieve electronic management of original records and inspection reports, and support the online generation of quality ledgers and statistical reports;

2. Leveraging multiple terminals such as computers, tablets, and mobile phones, we achieve a paperless office for the inspection process;

3. Integrate the management of all elements in the laboratory, incorporating personnel, instruments and equipment, experimental materials, standards, consumables, reagents, rims, testing methods, documents, and environment into systematic control, forming a closed-loop management system of "people, machines, materials, methods, environment, and testing", and standardize the standard operating procedures of the laboratory.

4. Optimize resource allocation efficiency through standardized management of laboratory resources; achieve strict control of operating costs and quantitative assessment of personnel work through precise control of costs, time, and personnel in each link of the inspection business process, thereby enhancing the overall operational efficiency of the laboratory.

(II) Project construction content

LIMS covers the main business aspects of the laboratory, including sample management, testing task management, data management, report management, resource management, and system management. Through LIMS, the laboratory business processes are standardized and normalized, improving management efficiency. It strengthens the management of laboratory resources, including personnel, equipment, reagents, etc., and enhances resource utilization. It establishes a comprehensive quality management system to ensure the accuracy and reliability of testing data. It automates the processing of laboratory business processes, reducing manual intervention and improving work efficiency. It achieves automatic data collection, transmission, and processing, reducing data entry errors and repetitive labor.

IV. Highlights of project implementation

In alignment with Jinyu Tire's business development needs, management objectives, and unique characteristics, the project adheres to the principle of "overall planning and step-by-step implementation", clarifying construction goals for each stage. Adopting the quality policy of "fairness, efficiency, professionalism, and authority", and based on compliance with ISO9001 standards and ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory certification standards, the project aims to build a LIMS system platform with scalability and extensibility, connecting internal and external collaborative processes to create an efficient laboratory. Specific implementation highlights are as follows:

Management philosophy and process innovation: Through precise control over conditions, costs, deadlines, and personnel involved in each step of the business process, we achieve "knowable, controllable, and predictable" management of the business. This promotes standardization, automation, and digitalization of laboratory operations, thereby enhancing the management level of the R&D center's business.

Full-process traceability and standardized management: Covering the entire process of testing work, achieving systematic control over all aspects from business acceptance, formula management, contract review, sample reception, task allocation, sample preparation management, result analysis, report generation to report review and release; supporting historical data and quality statistical data query, strengthening the traceability of inspection data, and improving the procedural, standardized, and normalized level of inspection business in the R&D center.

Construction of a professional information platform: Establish a dedicated information platform for laboratory management, integrating core data such as experimental process and result information, testing methods and standards information, equipment operation information, and personnel qualification information. This will form a comprehensive and centralized information database, providing data support for laboratory management decisions.

Automatic instrument data collection: Implement the docking between automatic instruments with standard output functions and the LIMS system, achieving automatic collection of instrument data at the workstation, reducing manual entry steps, and enhancing data collection efficiency and accuracy.

Error rate reduction and efficiency improvement: Reduce errors in manual data transmission and enhance data accuracy; automate the statistical analysis of inspection data through the system, thereby reducing the workload of laboratory personnel in report statistics, improving work efficiency and management level, and supporting secondary utilization of data to explore its value.

Mobile office and system integration: Establish a mobile office platform to enable laboratory personnel to handle work anytime and anywhere, enhancing work flexibility; through system integration, achieve automatic uploading of inspection result data to other relevant information systems, breaking data silos and improving cross-system collaboration efficiency.
